A kit full of side quests for kids who need something to do — and a parent who needs ten minutes.

It happens. The tablet dies. The friends are busy. The day stretches out like a long hallway with nothing at the end of it. This kit was made for exactly that moment.

The Boredom Buster Kit is stuffed with games, activities, writing prompts, and creative challenges for kids who need something to DO. Not something to consume — something to make, play, solve, and invent. It arrives ready to unbox and immediately use.

What's inside

The play stuff:

  • Game On The Go pad — a full pad of paper games: tic tac toe, dots and boxes, MASH, hangman, and more. No screen required.  · $14.00

  • Mini puzzles — for the ten minutes before dinner or the hour after.  · $3.00

  • Retro Twirl fidget — for hands that need to be doing something while the brain thinks.  · $4.99

The activity books:

  • Anti-Boredom Book of Brilliant Things To Do Outside — games, crafts, puzzles, jokes, and outdoor adventures for when the screen dies.  · $8.00

  • Legendary Monsters Activity Book — myths, mazes, colouring, and creature lore for rainy days and long afternoons.  · $10.00

The write-it-down stuff:

  • Composition journal — for stories, lists, plans, and whatever needs to get out of their head.  · $8.00

  • Washable markers — bright, fun, and actually washable.  · $4.00

  • Colored pencils — for illustrating the monsters, probably.  · $4.00

  • Pre-stamped postcards — write to someone. Anyone. A pen pal, a grandparent, themselves in five years.  · $3.00

  • sticker  · $2.00

The two paths — choose your adventure:

The Quest Map is a structured trail through the kit — each item is wrapped, numbered, and comes with a prompt card tucked inside. Open one at a time and follow along. Perfect for kids who like a plan.

The Wild Wander is for kids who want to tear the whole thing open at once. No order, no rules, no wrong way. Just go.

Both paths are included. Nothing is required.

  • Quest Map + Wild Wander prompt cards — bespoke to this kit, printed by hand.  · $10.00

A note for parents

This kit is not a screen and it won't hold their attention for six hours straight. But it will give them options — real, tangible, interesting options — for the moments when they don't know what to do with themselves. Those moments are actually important. This kit supports them.

Ships beautifully wrapped, each item numbered and ready to discover. Ready to gift or keep.

faq

What is so unique?

As two budding neurodivergent writers, we wanted to share things that inspire us (and spark our creativity and dopamine). We love creating writing kits as mini collections to celebrate a writer's uniqueness. Writing kits are packed with thoughtful gifts that inspire writers through touch, writing prompts, aesthetics, games, challenges, and a few things to celebrate you! As two ADHD writers, we know our inspirational brains are always active- but sometimes we need a change of venue or activity. Hence, a bookish kit with creative side quests.

Can I personalize gifts?

Yes! Our handwriting isn't perfect, but we would love to personalize your gifts with an included card. (NOTE: we are still updating our website and if the message option doesn't appear - just email us @ guildedmonocle@gmail.com and tell us the following: )

The name of the gift recipient

The name of the gift giver

Your message - or at least what type of celebration or gift occasion.
