Honestly we all wish this was our life - writing on a beautiful beach with only the rhythmic crashing of the waves to keep us company.
But despite our dreams or well meaning suggestions from writing books, we may not all have a whole room to turn into an office- dedicated to be a creative space, and the dining table may need to be used to eat, or covered in homework, laundry or other things. So if you are short on space but big on creativity, maybe you need your own writing and reading corner.
So this may not be the style or comfort that fits everyone, but... if you are a writer you need a dedicated space, here is an idea-- A canopy in a corner, with your own seat, table, and rug. It could double as a reading nook too:)
1. Designate your space --You can designate a corner or wall, with a cute fanciful canopy. These aren't just for kids, or mosquito prevention anymore. There are so many to choose from, but it all depends on your preferences. Personally textures are a big thing for me- so I need soft things and cotton when I can. You can go for a vintage/ victorian/cottage core look.
This is one I found on Amazon.com As of March 25, 2023 it was listed as $39.99 (this is an ad and As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.)
But they also have lots of others too. If perhaps you are more into a dark academic or goth look- you can get black, grey, pink, red etc. and some with an extra mesh (but most of these are in polyester.

From reviews it is suggested to get an additional sturdier hook to hang these from, which I'm sure amazon will show you. There are also feathered LED dreamcatchers and mobiles advertised but I'm not sure how I feel about that.
2. Something to sit on.
Cushion, bean bag, floor chair, rug even a small chair and end table could work!
This Kuya Japanese floor chair is pricey, but folds up and stows. you can use a breakfast tray for your laptop or just your laptop. This is one I found on Amazon.com As of March 25, 2023 it was listed as $84.99 (this is an ad and As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.)
I can usually find cute end table / computer table / c-shaped table at stores like TJ Maxx and homegoods, of course Amazon has them too, but its hard to figure out heights and needs. Some are on wheels, and have an extra shelf, others have extra plugs.
Rugs are fun too- I like shaggy soft ones that are machine washable.
Normally I go for plain grey or off white, but this one gives off Alice in Wonderland vibes and could be fun in the right place.

But generally a small round rug would be perfect, there are a bunch on amazon and your local stores - I like the 2' of 3' round ones:) like this one on Amazon.com As of March 25, 2023 it was listed as $32.99 (this is an ad and As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.)
