We made the template made in Canva, and here is the link. As with the previous link you need a canva account, then make a copy of the template to make it your own!
Now that what you care about is out of the way. Onward to the post.
I finally finished a draft of a novel I've been working on for over a year now, and just got a beta read back. And surprise, surprise, one of the main comments was that they didn't fully understand the magical world in the novel, and they generously pointed out specific points where either the magic didn't seem to have rules, or a more magical scene needed to be added to explain the rules.
So I am back to the magical drawing board so to speak. I was trying to just write it down, but that wasn't much fun. So I procrastinated and came up with this template. So I hope you can make use of it, and use it early on in your world building! Have fun!
This template sounds like such a lifesaver for anyone diving into magical world-building! It’s easy to get lost in all the details and rules of a fantasy world, and having a structured way to map it all out could really help keep things consistent and engaging for readers. I love that it’s on Canva, too—it makes it so much easier to customize and visualize everything without getting bogged down in too many notes. Thanks for sharing this tool, and congrats on finishing your novel draft! Best of luck with the edits, and I’m sure this template will be a game-changer for many other writers, too!
